Admm8h | 10 March 2023

We are delighted to announce that Alexandra Cocksworth has been appointed as Deputy Head Pastoral at LWC from September 2023. From an incredibly strong field from across the educational sector, Ali stood out as the individual to lead pastoral care at LWC into Strategy 2030.

Alexandra has been a Housemistress and teacher of English at Bradfield College for the last seven years where, in addition to being responsible for a large boarding house, she has been heavily involved in the many different aspects of College life from EDI to cricket. She began her teaching career at North London Collegiate School in 2010 where she was appointed as Assistant Head of Middle School in 2012 and took over as Head of Middle School the following year, taking strategic and day-to-day responsibility for Years 7-9, as well as being Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead. She has also worked in Public Relations and school admissions and marketing prior to teaching.

Alexandra grew up in boarding schools in Kent and was a scholar at The King’s School, Canterbury, before studying English Literature at Cambridge University. She has an MA in Modern and Contemporary Literature from Birkbeck, University of London, and is a studying for a PhD in trauma, race and gender in western literature.

Beyond school life, she loves writing, theatre, music and cricket. She brings with her to LWC, her husband (Sternian and alumnus of Summerfield House), their three young children, cat and yellow lab. We wish them all the very best as they settle into our community over the summer months.
